Chairman NDMA Visits Chitral to Oversee Flood Situation

Chairman NDMA, Major General Asghar Nawaz visited Chitral on third day of Eid to review the progress on relief and rehabilitation work in flood affected areas of the district.

During his visit he analysed actual ground situation after the flash flood which washed away mosque and civilian population in Chitral. He also held meetings with the officers of the local administration and provincial agencies.  Chairman also assessed the needs of the local people and affirmed that all logistics support is being provided by PDMA for urgent relief and early rehabilitation of the affectees.

He also directed his team to send 30 tons of wheat for the chitral flood affectees who have lost their wheat stocks during flood. Chairman NDMA also offered condolence with the bereaved families and also distributed food hampers/relief among them.

He also urged need to create awareness among the common and to sensitized them of impending dangers during the monsoon.
