GOERE Training at District Ghotki 13 – 15 July 2017 Organized by NIDM

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is making endeavors to enhance the capacity of disaster management authorities at all level to ensure a high level of preparedness to tackle with all types of disasters to effectively mitigate losses /damages and mount comprehensive and coordinated response. To achieve this purpose, a comprehensive concept of Government Officers Emergency Response Exercise (GOERE) was evolved under NIDM.
In this backdrop, NIDM Team comprising Lt Col Khuda Bakhah, Diretor Response NDMA and Senior Capacity Building Specialist NIDM and Mrs Bushara Hassaan DRM Expert are at Ghotki District, Sindh to impart GOERE training from 13th to 15th July 2017.
Objectives of the Exercise
The objective of the training/exercise is to acquaint the disaster managers / practitioners with Disaster Management Mechanism at various levels of response to alleviate the suffering of people and save critical infrastructure. The course also aims at enabling officials and Humanitarian Partners to implement knowledge and ensure effective response during crises situation. Participants were encouraged to develop key skills and adopt proactive attitudes through participation in interactive lectures and reflection on a range of key issues raised during discussions.
Over 45 Government /officials and humanitarian partners are attending this exercise with the support of WFP. NIDM Team has also invited PDMA and DDMA Officials to participate in the exercise and share their knowledge with the participants .This Participatory approach for conduct of exercise is aim to create awareness and strengthen coordination mechanism between all tires of Response.
