Pak NDMA’s 2nd Expo on Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR-25) Concludes with Innovation and Resilience Insights
NDMA's 2nd edition of Pakistan Expo on Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR) 2025 concluded today after a dynamic three-day event, showcasing cutting-edge solutions and strengthened collaborations for a resilient future.
 
The closing ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including NDMA Chairman Lt. Gen. Inam Haider Malik, and UN Resident Coordinator Muhammad Yahya. The ceremony was attended by government officials, ambassadors, humanitarian leaders, academic professionals, industry experts and media representatives. Distinguished speakers emphasized on collective action in driving Pakistan’s Resilience Vision 2030 forward.
 
During the event, cash prizes were awarded to the top three winners of the Young Artists Painting and Photography Competition, celebrating the power of art in representing resilience and innovation.
 
PEDRR 2025 featured expert-led dialogues on disaster diplomacy, anticipatory governance, AI-powered forecasting, infrastructure resilience, and the role of armed forces in disaster management. The forum fostered groundbreaking discussions, regional partnerships and forward-thinking strategies to address climate-induced disasters.
 
A highlight of the event was the commitment to proactive disaster governance, prioritizing anticipatory action and AI-driven early warning systems to safeguard communities. The expo also featured over 52 capacity displays from humanitarian organizations, government departments, industry professionals and academia, alongside armed forces installations and response equipment demonstrations. The Rescue 1122 team conducted a live mock drill to enhance public preparedness.
 
As PEDRR 2025 concludes, participants gained a commitment to advancing disaster management through inclusive, innovative, and action-oriented approaches. The collaborations and insights from the event will shape Pakistan’s journey toward a safer, more sustainable future.
