The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) hosted a closed-door workshop on “The Impact of Early Childhood Trauma in the Context of National Disasters” on April 12, 2025, in collaboration with The Healing Triad.

 

The initiate was part of Pakistan’s first Baby Matters Conference, the workshop featured renowned U.S.-based trauma expert Dr. Chandra Ghosh Ippen and focused on trauma-informed disaster response for children.

 

They discussed:

1. Trauma in young children during disasters

2. Early intervention strategies

3. Strengthening mental health-disaster response coordination

 

Participants included NDMA staff, psychologists, first responders, and child welfare professionals.
