As part of the NDMA Internship Programme 2026, female interns participated in a one-day Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Badge Activity organized by the Pakistan Girl Guides Association (PGGA).

The activity highlighted the importance of community-based disaster risk reduction, leadership, and volunteerism in building resilient communities. Through interactive learning sessions and practical activities, the interns gained valuable insights into disaster preparedness, emergency response, teamwork, and the critical role that trained volunteers play in reducing disaster risks.

Trainers of PGGA conducted practical sessions on essential scouting and survival skills, introducing interns to various types of knots and demonstrating how to construct useful gadgets using locally available resources. Through these hands-on activities, the interns learned the importance of maximizing the use of limited resources, enhancing their problem-solving abilities, and developing practical survival skills.

The DRR activity reinforced the principles of self-reliance, preparedness, and resilience, equipping participants with knowledge which is valuable in disaster and emergency situations.
