Participants of the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 (𝗧𝗼𝗧) 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗗𝗥𝗠) 𝗕𝗮𝗱𝗴𝗲, organized jointly by the NDMA, Unicef and 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, visited the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝗡𝗗𝗠𝗔).

The training aims to develop a 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 capable of equipping young Scouts with essential knowledge and skills in 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲. Through the newly introduced 𝗗𝗥𝗠 𝗕𝗮𝗱𝗴𝗲, disaster preparedness will be formally integrated into Scouting education across Pakistan.

During the visit, participants were briefed on 𝗡𝗗𝗠𝗔’𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗵𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆-𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 and the role of the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗡𝗘𝗢𝗖) in real-time hazard monitoring and coordinated disaster response. They also learned about NDMA’s community-based disaster risk management initiatives and the important role of young people in strengthening preparedness and resilience at the grassroots level.

The Scout Leaders appreciated NDMA’s efforts to promote a 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 and reaffirmed Scouting’s vital role in building 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 by empowering young people with life-saving knowledge and practical skills.
