National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) conducted a vital capacity-building training session for provincial and sectoral departments on "Infrastructural Audit and Health Assessment Methodologies." The session was the key component of the National Infrastructure Audit Program launched in January 2026, the session focused on equipping stakeholders with the critical tools needed to accurately evaluate the structural integrity of existing buildings across Pakistan.
NDMA emphasized that the true success of this nationwide initiative relies on rigorous, on-ground implementation by the provinces. By conducting these audits in letter and spirit, authorities can proactively identify structural vulnerabilities and permanently eliminate the risk of tragic, preventable disasters such as the Kahna roof collapse and the Lyari building collapse.
