The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has successfully concluded the Second Master Trainer Course on “DRR for Volunteers” under the TAYAR Project.

Bringing together young leaders from Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Islamabad, the course focused on strengthening skills in:

Disaster Risk Reduction

Emergency Preparedness

Anticipatory Action

Community Resilience

Effective Facilitation

But the journey does not end with the training.

These young leaders will now serve as multipliers of preparedness, cascading their knowledge across university campuses, schools and surrounding communities—turning awareness into action and leadership into resilience.

TAYAR is led by NDMA in collaboration with Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), UNICEF Pakistan, Pur Azm Pakistan, School of Leadership Foundation (SOLF) and Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The course was hosted at SZABIST Islamabad Campus, providing an enabling environment for interactive learning, dialogue and collaboration.

The first Training of Trainers was conducted from 11–13 August at NDMA’s CoE C2DM, with 41 faculty members and senior students from 16 universities participating.
