A high-level delegation from the Syrian Arab Republic, led by Dr. Ahmed Ekzayez, Deputy Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, visited the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Headquarters at 1400 hrs on 11 February 2026. The delegation included Ms. Doaa Al Hariri, Director of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management; Mr. Ali Mohamad, Head of Risk Planning and Community Resilience; and Mr. Bertrand Aude, Head of Office, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Syria.

During the visit, the delegation held a meeting with the Chairman NDMA to explore avenues for enhanced collaboration between the two institutions. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation through structured dialogues, joint training initiatives, technical knowledge exchange, and the conduct of exercise programs (both on-site and virtual) to further advance disaster risk reduction and emergency management capacities.
