The UK ISAR Team visited the National Disaster Management Authority to discuss opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation in strengthening emergency response capacities, Urban Search & Rescue (USAR), and volunteer activation and deployment.

The visit provided an opportunity for productive discussions on enhancing collaboration in disaster risk management, capacity building of first responders at the local level, emergency preparedness, and the adoption of international best practices in search and rescue. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening resilience through innovation, advanced early warning systems, and coordinated efforts to safeguard vulnerable communities across Pakistan.

The delegation received a comprehensive briefing at the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC), showcasing NDMA's state-of-the-art multi-hazard monitoring and early warning capabilities, integrated risk assessment systems, and technology-driven initiatives that support timely preparedness, response, and informed decision-making.

The UK ISAR Team also visited NDMA's disaster-resilient infrastructure models, Humanitarian Logistics Yard, and Mobile National Emergencies Operation Center (Mobile NEOC), gaining first-hand insight into Pakistan's evolving disaster management capabilities and operational preparedness.

The visit concluded with a shared commitment to deepen technical cooperation, promote knowledge exchange, strengthen institutional partnerships, and explore future opportunities for collaboration aimed at enhancing Pakistan's national disaster preparedness and emergency response capabilities.
