Infrastructure Advisory for Azad Jammu and Kashmir - Monsoon 2025
Pakistan suffers significant economic losses annually due to infrastructure damages caused by monsoon-induced hazards. These recurring impacts place considerable strain on national resources and impede long-term development and resilience. In response, the Infrastructure Advisory & Project Development Wing (IA&PD) of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has conducted a detailed assessment to identify regions most vulnerable to flooding and other monsoon-related threats. Incorporating projections for Monsoon 2025, this advisory presents a set of targeted measures and strategic recommendations aimed at strengthening the resilience of critical infrastructure. It is intended to support timely, informed and preventive action by relevant stakeholders across the country.

Infrastructure Advisory for Hailstorm and Windstorm
In light of the increasing likelihood of severe hailstorms and windstorms, the Infrastructure Advisory and Project Development (IA&PD) Wing of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has compiled a comprehensive advisory. This document outlines essential mitigation measures aimed at enhancing the resilience of existing infrastructure. The recommended actions are designed to minimize potential damages and ensure better preparedness across public and private infrastructure systems in the face of these emerging weather threats.

Post Event Report of Seminar on Role of Development Organizations in Enhancing Infrastructure Resilience in Pakistan
Pakistan faces severe climate change impacts, with recurrent disasters exposing infrastructure vulnerabilities and causing significant losses. To address these challenges, NDMA’s Infrastructure Advisory & Project Development (IA&PD) Wing organized a seminar on "The Role of Development Organizations in Enhancing Infrastructure Resilience in Pakistan" which was held on 12 February, 2025 at NEOC Auditorium, NDMA HQ, Islamabad. It brought together key stakeholders, including UN agencies, policymakers and industry leaders, to discuss sustainable solutions. The seminar emphasized cross-sector collaboration, innovative approaches and proactive planning to enhance disaster resilience. It reinforced the need for continued engagement and investment in strengthening Pakistan’s infrastructure against climate-induced risks.

Infrastructure Risk Atlas of Pakistan
The Infrastructure Risk Atlas is Pakistan's first initiative on a National Level to identify high risk areas from the perspective of infrastructure vulnerabilities against Floods and Earthquake hazards. The risk maps in this atlas have been devised using information relating to building type and vulnerabilities. It will help in proactively identifying regions with weak and vulnerable structures, enabling targeted disaster risk reduction efforts and interventions. The Atlas will support better decision-making for both government and private sector stakeholders, improving resource allocation and enhancing disaster response and recovery, ultimately strengthening infrastructure resilience for a safer, sustainable future.

Post Event Report of Seminar on National Collaboration for Sustainable Smart Construction Solutions – Disaster Resilient Approach
IA&PD wing organized a national seminar on Sustainable Smart Construction Solutions – Disaster Resilient Approach to promote discussions on sustainable and resilient construction solutions. The event brought together industry experts, builders, developers, engineering organizations and academia experts to collaboratively devise solutions for disaster-resilient infrastructure tailored to Pakistan’s socio-economic and geographical diversity. The session was held on 12 December 2024, at NEOC, HQ NDMA. This seminar, organized under the “Build Back Better” framework emphasised on integrating advanced technologies, adopting sustainable materials and tailoring global best practices to Pakistan’s unique geographical and socio-economic context.
