On the directive of the Prime Minister, the Chairman of NDMA visited the Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority and conducted a comprehensive review of monsoon preparations.

During the meeting, a briefing was given on advance preparations, emergency planning, and the availability of resources. Detailed measures to deal with flash floods, urban and riverine flooding, landslides, and Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs) were reviewed.

The Chairman of NDMA directed all relevant departments to ensure the availability of resources at the local level and also to pay special attention to promoting safe tourism during the monsoon season. He emphasized using all available communication channels for public awareness campaigns so that people can be protected from potential risks.
