Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Advocate Amjad Hussain visits the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) of NDMA. Chairman NDMA Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik briefed the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan on the capacity scope of the NEOC and the national monitoring system. The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan was informed about the potential risks during the monsoon, the early warning system, and emergency response procedures. Chairman NDMA gave a detailed briefing on the risks of floods, landslides, and Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOF) in Gilgit-Baltistan and the protective measures taken. Through the NEOC, 24-hour monitoring of weather, rivers, streams, and potential risks of natural disasters is being conducted across the country. The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan was informed about NDMA's modern early warning system, timely monitoring, and decision-making system. Chairman NDMA said that timely early warning, effective coordination, and institutional synergy are the guarantee for reducing damages caused by natural disasters.
