National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with Prime Minister Youth Program (PMYP) and UNICEF, launched the National Standardized Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Manual for Volunteers and the Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Badge for Pakistan Boy Scouts Association. The launch event was graced by Chairman PMYP Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan and Chairman NDMA Lt. General Inaam Haider Malik (SI), marking an important step towards equipping young volunteers with standardized knowledge and skills for disaster risk reduction and emergency preparedness.

The event brought together representatives from the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, NDRMF, HEC, Pakistan Boy Scouts Association, Pakistan Girl Guides Association and youth representatives to advance a shared vision of empowering young people as agents of disaster preparedness, risk reduction and resilience.

The launch was also followed by a technical panel discussion on “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations”, highlighting the importance of equipping adolescents and youth with the knowledge, skills and leadership needed to take meaningful action before, during and after disasters.
