Participants of PhD and MS programs from the School of Interdisciplinary Engineering and Sciences (SINES), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), visited the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) at NDMA Headquarters.
During the visit, the students were briefed on NDMA’s mandate, Early Warning Systems, and disaster management mechanisms, including real-time monitoring, data analytics, and response coordination systems. The visit provided valuable insight into the operational dynamics of Pakistan’s national disaster management framework.
This engagement aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of disaster preparedness, response, and climate adaptation strategies, while also encouraging research collaboration between academia and NDMA in the field of disaster risk reduction and resilience building.
It reflects NDMA’s commitment to engaging with academic institutions for advancing evidence-based approaches and strengthening the country’s disaster management and climate resilience capacities.
